I qualified in 1984 and prior to pursuing a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I trained in General Surgery and Urology which led to the attainment of my FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons).

I specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Northern Deanery (Newcastle), London Deanery (South Thames Region) and Wessex Deanery (Southampton), during which time I worked at each of the main teaching hospitals within the three Deaneries.

I held a senior post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology overseas before arriving in the UK.
